shouting out their emotions
Express emotions they cannot say out loud.
In Afghanistan today, millions of girls are not allowed to go to school. They are banned from learning, dreaming, and building a future. But some brave girls are still finding ways to raise their voices through art.
At Alefba, our students recently created drawings to show the world what it means to be a girl in Afghanistan. Their pictures speak of pain, strength, and hope. Some drew closed school doors. Others showed girls crying, dreaming, or reading in secret. Many showed the fight for education, freedom, and equal rights.
These drawings are not just pictures. They are a message. A message that says:
“We are here. We matter. We want to learn.”
When girls are silenced, art becomes their voice. These drawings help them:
Express emotions they cannot say out loud.
Raise awareness about their situation.
Show the world that Afghan girls still have hope.
Through art, they are learning, healing, and standing up for their rights.
